How Does Marketing Work?

A basic tenent of marketing states that it takes 3 - 5 knocks on a consumer's door before they will make a decision. Most busy folks lack the time it takes to knock on a consumer's door one time, let alone the numbers of times required to get them to consistently "take action." That is where we come in.

An effective marketing campaign is much like moving a cruise ship from the dock. It takes a lot of time and energy to transition that ship from a complete standstill to a moving vessel and then it takes additional energy to point the moving ship toward open water. The good news is that once you get it moving and pointed in the right direction, it requires only steady, consistent energy to keep it moving. The challenge is to keep "feeding the engine" with fuel every day to avoid allowing that ship to become dead in the water because if that happens, you must begin the process all over again.

That is the challenge that most artists, authors and non-profits face every day.
